Elderly orientation workshop to enhance domestic worker skills

An occupational therapist, volunteered her knowledge to train a group of unemployed people in how to care for an elderly person. On the morning of 11 November 2017,  Hannes de Villiers opened the day and discussed respect and God’s view of an elderly person.

The group actively engaged throughout the workshop and enjoyed it thoroughly. The workshop covered aspects such as:

  • understanding aging,
  • movement transition,
  • daily activities,
  • falling
  • and more.

These volunteers signed up for this workshop due to their interest in caring for seniors. Should you need someone to support you or you wish to employ them, please contact DRC Lynnwood Ridge who has an employment centre through which people are placed.
